JAJA Architects opens office in Norway

To be closer to our Norwegian customers and partners, we are now opening an office in Oslo. Located in the center of the city in Fredensborgveien 39A, our newest team member Kristin will continue our development – and now physical presence – in Norway at the workspace we share with friends from OppOpp and Enkime.

We know Kristin quite well from previous collaborations. She is an experienced architect and urban planner with skills ranging from regulation to residential development, as well as A to Z planning of completed construction projects such as care homes, housing and sports facilities.

To get to know Kristin better, we have interviewed her for our Meet the JAJAs series. Find the interview here

JAJA in Norway

In Norway, we are working on several mobility counselling assignments on different scales in cities such as Bærum, Oslo, Trondheim and Tønsberg. In addition, we, together with Dyrvik, are delivering the regulation plan for the Pappen industrial site in Sarpsborg, the Amundsen residential development also in Sarpsborg, and the Torp Bruk development in Fredrikstad which we won back in December 2021.

Here’s an outtake of our current projects in Norway:

Nypappen: A masterplan for Petersontomten, a former industrial site in Norway. With a sustainable approach of reusing and adapting we are transforming the factory area into an attractive and vibrant urban area with housing and new industry

Mobility in Grorud: Transforming an existing train station in Grorud into a new mobility hub together with Beta Mobility.

Torp Bruk: Creating a new and modern district with a vibrant and urban feel that can attract home buyers from a larger geographical area.

“Roald Amundsen Gate” Housing: Located between both small-scale housing areas and urban structures, the project consists of four coherent buildings, stepping down and creating an attractive garden for the residents.

Oslo Triennale 2022: At the former Edward Munch Museum, our exhibition showcased many different aspects of our Car Free(dom) project by inviting visitors into a room full of models, illustrations and green mobility visions.

The office in Oslo is already open in Fredensborgveien 39A, and we’re happy to welcome our collaborators to say hi if you walk by or invite you over for coffee when in Oslo!
