Nesodden

Located at Tangen, a beautiful peninsula in the Oslo Fjords, the location of Nesodden couldn't be any better. The masterplan is introducing a new, pollinating green common – connecting new and existing qualities into a vibrant green meeting place in the centre of Tangen.

Natural Surroundings

The Tangen development plan is centred around the natural qualities of the northern peninsula. To connect Tangen with the ferry and Oslo we propose a new connection from the water through nature to the centre of Tangen, creating a beautiful, healthy, and active connection and an alternative to car-use as today.

Tangen Helix

Tangen Downtown contains several key elements such as the school, shopping centre, and the cultural centre, but despite their size and active programs, they are not creating great synergies and life around and between the buildings. We therefore propose a helix in extension to the Tangen path, creating a strong connection and series of meeting places and activities between the buildings. To create synergies and life, we combine the schoolyard, park and urban plaza into a greater natural connection providing a natural meeting point for the entire village.

New Swimming Hall

To create a lively neighbourhood and support daily life in Tangen Centre we propose to place new housing and a swimming hall close to the main road and plaza. The space between the cultural centre and the new swimming hall creates a welcoming plaza and further connection to the learning landscape.

Multi-Purpose Hall

Instead of seeing the common schoolyard as a school area only, we seek to create a common ground and meeting place for the entire community offering an active learning landscape in connection to the neighbourhood. Nestled into the landscape, we propose the new multipurpose hall and kindergarten framing and activating the new Tangen Helix through the new learning environment between primary and secondary school.

School Extension

We suggest the planned extension to the school to create clear space and function as a passage at the same time. Today the school has a clear backside towards the amazing forest. By creating a shifted passage and connection, the new extension activates both sides of the school, while connecting further down to the new housing development into the forest.
