THE CHURCH FOR THE PEOPLE
From the surface of the water to the steeple, the roof promenade becomes the communal public space. It is a place for everybody. The upward-moving spiral walkway and the harbor promenade merge together with the roof, extending the surrounding urban space and inviting people up to experience the heights.
A vibrant district
The development plan supports the vision of creating a vibrant district with great educational institutions, business, housing and public functions to support the potential that lies within the district's location and infrastructural offerings.
THE LEARNING FOREST
Inspired by both C.TH Sørensen’s geometric gardens in Herning and the existing landscape, we designed the Learning Forest, the Vrå School, and additional geometric landscape elements used for recreational learning.
Green connections
The main approach builds on the newly constructed bicycle connection which is extended as a green feature that connects Odense C with the harbor and the forest. West of the green connection, the existing education-related programs are strengthened and to the east, the development plan builds on the planned student housing laid out as a porous building in the green.
