Wooden extension

Experienced as a free-standing building the new extension for the youngest students is connected to the existing building via a footbridge which is scenically connected to the Campus Promenade.

Good connections and opportunities for diverse play and learning, indoors as well as outdoors, are created in one coherent architectural and landscape main grip.

Gradient scale

The scale of the patchwork pattern varies from large on the upper part of the façade, relating to the size of the structure and its urban environment, to a smaller human scale where the façade meets the ground.

From Schoolyard to the heights

Designed relatively compact, the new building for the school’s oldest children contains one continuous course of stairs and roof terraces. This ensures sufficient space for outdoor areas on the terrain and at the same time ensures good connections between inside and outside from all floors.

An external staircase connects all floors and the building provides opportunities for diverse play and learning environments, ranging from the schoolyard up to the heights.

Multi-Purpose Hall

The new multi-purpose acts a a new and large recreational meeting space that is spatially connected to the adjacent schoolyard, as well as the rest of the school’s main connections.

Semi-submerged in the terrain and designed with a continuous window band, the hall will be experienced light, open, and inviting.
