Selected to transform Assens harbor front

We are among the three selected teams that have been selected to design a new culture house as well as a harbor front in Assens, Funen. We form teams with our friends from Bogl and Skanding.

The new urban plaza by the harbor will inspire social interaction and activities for both citizens and tourists, and there will be a clear architectural and functional connection between the waterfront and the culture house. The harbor area will also improve the connection between the beautiful inner market town and the vibrant harbor environment.

In addition to making a fantastic culture house and harbor front, our goal is that the new venue will enroll in the strategic plan and that the opening move will have several positive effects in Assen’s nearby port and market town. We consider the opening move to be a valuable tool to tie all the layers of the plan together and kick-start a long-term development with a concrete project that creates enthusiasm and inspires all parties to new development projects in Assens, Jakob Steen Christensen, JAJA Architects

The assessment committee will announce a winner at the end of August.
