Meet the JAJAs: Daniel joins our Oslo office

Daniel is our new Norwegian-Danish team member, joining our Oslo office to strengthen JAJA’s presence and ongoing work in Norway. To get to know him better, we have asked him a series of questions:

How are you and can you tell us a bit about your architectural background?

I have always been fascinated by urban life and the complex social fabrics it enables. I find the most joy in working with architectural projects which can facilitate this fabric of curiosities through elements like embracing unplanned moments, romance, humour and the complex -yet not so complex human condition. To create whatever’s around the corner!

What excites you most about your job?

I think JAJA embraces a lot of the spirit I search for in architecture. The difference in scales from playfulness to buildings that serve society as a whole. There is experimentation in materials as well as social connections.

What are you working on at JAJA now?

I’m currently working on the transformation of an old (and beautiful in an old-school way) gymnastics hall in Nyborg, constructed in 1977. The building has a lot of character and it’s nice to work with more permeability to create a dynamic space for youth.

When you’re off work – what do you like to do?

I like to go to concerts, play basketball or just chill out at home. Although I usually have a couple smaller projects that I work on with friends that demand attention!

Do you have a go-to meal and movie on a rainy Sunday?

Tomato soup and sci-fi.
