Competition win: JAJA to design city spaces in Filipstad, Oslo
Competition win in Oslo.
We are very proud to share that we won the competition to design new urban spaces in Filipstad, Oslo together with our friends from Lala Tøyen, Ekanger Fantini arkitekter, Bærekraft & Økologi og Jon Benjamin Tallerås + several key specialists and resources.
Our project ‘Filipstad – ‘Open to the present, the city and the world’ envisions a neighbourhood that is open, inclusive and relevant to all of Oslos residents and visitors. Our proposal is built around the three key areas:
- “Kaia” – the quay, a community-based structure, planned as a democratic and vibrant urban space for everyone.
- “Oslofjorden” – the Oslo fjord, providing ecosystem services to the city’s residents every hour of every day, all year round.
- “Kunstlageret” – the art hub, the area around the former coffee tower “Aliblokka” with its existing warehouse buildings and tents.
“ Both the overall impression and the details were crucial. All the pre-qualified teams were highly competent and submitted excellent proposals, but the winning proposal stood out as by far the most thoroughly thought-through”. The Jury
Now, we can’t wait to continue our work!
