Competition win: JAJA to create a comprehensive mobility and urban plan for Amager
We are thrilled to announce that, together with Artelia, Bogl, and KOMMON, we have won the assignment to develop a holistic and interdisciplinary mobility and urban plan for Amager, Copenhagen!
In the coming year, we will analyse the challenges and opportunities within Amager’s urban spaces, facilitate a dialogue about its future, and develop a comprehensive mobility and urban plan for the district. Our approach will particularly focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, designing spaces that integrate traffic flow, urban life, green areas, and meeting places while tackling challenges like biodiversity loss, climate adaptation, and the growing impacts of water and heat waves in future.
Amager is a unique mosaic of identities and potentials, requiring one to perceive it at eye level and not just from above. To understand and capture this, we’ll engage in close dialogue with residents, local committees, Copenhageners, and other stakeholders.
The Mobility Pyramid will guide our work to create accessible, green and safe routes and stays for the ‘Amaricans’. In homage to the area’s history, we have transformed the pyramid into an ‘Amagerhylde’, inspiring the locals to move most from the bottom and least from the top.
We can’t wait to get started!
