Exploring space at Utzon Center’s Space Crazy exhibition
Inspired by our design for Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse, our installation, called Rumkikkert (Space Telescope), invites people to step inside a huge kaleidoscope. From the outside it looks like a portal, but from the inside everything changes. As soon as you enter, millions of reflections appear, and, depending on the time of day, the reflections will vary. Our hope is, that the flickering experience will sharpen the visitors’ senses and make them see the space in a whole new way.
The ‘Space Crazy’ exhibition at Utzon Center invites children as well as adults to use their heads, hands, imaginations and minds to play away, unaware of just how much they are learning about architecture and design along the way. JAJA contributes alongside great architects and designers from YOKE, COBE, ADEPT, Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter (Norway), and Studio Poesis.
Located in Aalborg, Denmark, Utzon Center is the Nordic center for architecture and design. Utzon Center’s main focus is exhibitions on current themes in architecture and design with an aesthetic touch of new technology.
Space Crazy is supported by The Nordea Foundation, Danish Art Foundation, Keflico and VOLA. The exhibition runs until February 23rd, 2020.
Mette Andersen from Carlas Cafe has kindly borrowed us some images for this article. She went to visit the exhibition with her family earlier this year, and she wrote such a nice review, which you can find here (in Danish).
