Kathrin appointed to Danish Arts Foundation
Kathrin has just been appointed to the Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Architecture Grants and Project Funding!
Together with the two other newly appointed members, architects Boris Brorman and Jens Thomas Arnfred, Kathrin will join the committee from 1 January 2018. Minister of Culture, Mette Bock, will appoint two additional members to the committee, which works for a four-year period starting from the beginning of the new year.
The prime aim of the Danish Arts Foundation is to promote the arts in Denmark and Danish art abroad. The Danish Arts Foundation consists of twelve specialist committees and a coordinating board of directors, covering architecture, visual arts, film, crafts and design, literature, music and performing arts. On the basis of applications from artists, artists groups, art dealers and art institutions, around 500 million DKK are distributed yearly for a wide range of artistic purposes. The committees receive and treat more than 12,000 applications a year.
About the vision for the Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Architecture Grants and Project Funding, the foundation writes on its webpage:” The Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Architecture Grants and Project Funding wishes for architecture in Denmark to positively contribute to solve and address the challenges facing our physical environment. Architects are able – through both concrete and aesthetic solutions – to improve, enrich, and qualify our physical surroundings. It is the desire of the Architecture Committee to visualize and promote architecture as a responsible, necessary, and relevant actor in the endeavor to develop society and transform problematic issues into potentials.”
