Dyrvik, JAJA and BOGL have been named winners of the transformation and development of Torp Bruk in Fredrikstad

The jury report states that “‘Elvetorpet’ [name of the winning proposal] makes the most use of the area’s distinctive qualities. The natural qualities are effectively used in the plan and especially the river bank is used as the local quality it is.” The jury’s assessment of the winning proposal can be read at www.torpmarinepark.no.

The winner is awarded the task of regulating the area, as well as the opportunity for development and design of at least one housing project / construction phase. Torp Bruk is one of the few areas included in the municipal plan for Fredrikstad municipality and will be transformed from the current industrial area to a new district with approx. 800-1000 housing units.

– We are both proud, happy and humbled to win the competition among the strong teams we competed against. Torp Bruk has a fantastic history and natural qualities that together form a good starting point for creating a unique place and living environment along the Glomma. In our proposal, we have worked to refine the place’s identity, the close connection to the water, and bring out the natural qualities. This is the basis for creating good neighborhoods and a good living environment, which is fundamental to our proposal. We look forward to embarking on the further work of developing Torp Bruk in close collaboration with Torp Marinepark Eiendom AS, says the representative of the winning team Kristin Uleberg Osnes from Dyrvik Arkitekter AS.

The winning proposal will be presented in more detail during the spring and summer. Work is now beginning on processing and quality assuring the proposal. The expected start-up regulation is in the spring of 2022.

33 applications were submitted in the pre-qualification, of which six teams were selected to participate in the competition.
