A new activity centre for new needs
Built in 1973, The Kirke Hyllinge Hall has long been a gathering point for the city’s active citizens and associations. However, the physical framework has gradually become outdated in relation to today’s sports forms. To meet future needs, we have expanded the hall with a new, state-of-the-art extension.

Inviting Building
In our design, graphics, landscape and building together gives a vibrant and playful main arrival. A supergraphic logo merges with guiding line markings, playfully drawing visitors inside.

A Cohesive Identity
We have emphasised creating a unified identity, graphic profile, and wayfinding for KHA.
A bold geometric display made by graphic designer Rama Studio serves as both a decorative supergraphic for storage cupboards and an interactive element for play and learning.

Flexperimentarium
The core of the activity center is the ‘flexperimentarium,’ a versatile hall designed to accommodate a wide array of activities.
From badminton, climbing and mini handball courts to flexible training areas, the design creates a dynamic arena where children, adults and associations can find new ways to practice sports and exercise.

THE COURTYARDS
The different pools are organized around the courtyards. They provide abundant daylight while allowing visitors different water-based experiences in- and outside of the building. The different roof/ceiling shapes create various atmospheres that support the activity and underpins the spatial experience of the pools.
A Community Place
Promoting community and collaboration across generations, associations and local communities, the meeting place will be a social and flexible hub.
The activity center will not only be a place for sports, but also a learning center for adults and parents to gain insight and support to get involved in the local community. There will be information on activities, clubs and health initiatives, and the area will act as an alternative ’waiting room’ where parents can stay while their children participate in activities.
