GAME Streetmekka Aalborg

A former laboratory building, situated at Eternitten, has undergone a huge transformation into becoming GAME Streetmekka Aalborg. The production building from 1963 is a legacy of industrial history. With its raw and distinct character, it almost demanded to be inhabited by urban street culture.

The informal nature of street culture has been merged into the existing laboratory building, creating spatial 'experiments' that inspire new connections between the building’s many activities. Rather than separating them, an urban melting pot was created that encourages spontaneous activity and surprising events.

Inspired by the beauty of the existing building, we preserved the raw, industrial magic and created an environment which invites users to experiment with new forms of movement, social gatherings, and spontaneous happenings.
