Shortlisted for Danish Design Award
Konditaget Lüders is shortlisted for the 2020 Danish Design Award in the ‘Livable Cities’ category.
Danish Design Awards is the big Danish design event of the year, which celebrates the best design solutions and shows the many ways in which design can make a difference for the society. The award is held by Danish Design Center and Design denmark and contains 15 different categories such as Better Learning, Healthy Life and Livable Cities. The Liveable Cities category is a design award for design-driven solutions that humanize and simplify life in cities.
The Parking House & Konditaget Lüders is a hybrid structure between parking house and playground. It rethinks the monofunctional parking house and transforms what is often an infrastructural necessity into a public amenity. Located on the rooftop – 24 meters above ground – it provides a recreational area and a view of the horizon, often only for the privileged few.
The building is owned by By & Havn and made in collaboration with Totalentreprenør 5e byg, Søren Jensen Engineers, LOA, DGI, and Rama Studio.
