From strategic planning to realization: Three JAJA projects have received funding to be realized along the west coast of Denmark
In the past two years, JAJA has worked on strategic masterplans on the Danish West Coast. We are happy to announce that three projects from the masterplans have received generous funding from Realdania’s “Vestkysten viser vejen” campaign!
The overall goal of the campaign is to strengthen Denmark’s West Coast to become the most popular coastal destinations of Northern Europe.
The projects that have received funding are:
Sti 100, Blokhusløkken
With an extension of “Sti 100” (Path 100) the experience of Løkken and Blokhus as a combined destination will be strengthened. The trail will inspire guests to move more on foot and bike and it provides opportunities for recreational experiences along the way. The project is a part of a strategic-physical development plan for Blokhus-Løkken we developed with the good people from BARK Rådgivning, Lars Bernhard Jørgensen and Valentin Trafikplanlægning
New square in Vejers Strandby
The project will strengthen the connection between the beach and the town in Vejers Strandby by establishing a ‘Soltorv’ (Sun square), which marks the arrival to the beach and a building, which contains toilet facilities, beach and surfing equipment. The new square is also a part of a strategic development plan and we made it in collaboration with Urland, Søgaard Consulting, Finn Jorsal, Niras and Peter Kvistgaard.
Maritime houses in Løkken
The purpose of the Maritime Houses is to create new and better facilities to be used by the growing number of outdoor tourists and help maintain an active coastal fishery in Løkken. This project is also from the strategic-physical development plan for Blokhus-Løkken.
