Sustainable transformation: JAJA prequalified to Kolding Design school competition
We and our teammates from Rørbæk & Møller, EKJ, and Akukon are very proud to be one out of the five selected teams in the Kolding Design School competition. The transformation of the 8.567 m2 Design School will ensure the school’s future position as Denmark’s leading design university for arts, crafts, research, and design.
Sustainable transformation
The competition involves a sustainable transformation of the iconic school building but not only with a focus on minimizing CO2 emissions – the sustainable approach will also involve creating the best possible framework for social sustainability. Creating a school where students and teachers thrive, where large-scale offices are a no go, and where a transformed flexible building provides opportunities to choose both calm and “loud” environments.
A.P. Møller, Augustinus, and Louis-Hansen together contribute with DKK 37.5 million DKK for the transformation of the Design School Kolding budgeted at a total of DKK 51.5 million DKK. The winning project is expected to be announced in early March 2022.
