Timber structure: Here’s our vision for the future GARD Headquarter

We are excited to present our proposal for the Gard Headquarters, developed in collaboration with our friends from Oslotre, ID, Lala Tøyen, and Vill Energi.

Located in Arendal, Norway, our design features a new main building constructed as a demountable and regenerative timber structure, utilizing innovative timber-to-timber construction technologies. This approach eliminates the use of steel and significantly reduces overall CO2 emissions. Additionally, the building features a natural ventilation system, promoting healthy work environments alongside the extensive use of biomaterials.

Nestled between the hills and the sea, the building offers a welcoming and safe space in a bright, natural setting for employees, clients, and visitors alike.

Out of 39 submissions in the first round, we are proud to have been one of three teams shortlisted for the final stage. Congratulations to Hille Melbye Arkitekter and Edit Landskap for their winning proposal!
