JAJA Prequalified to Transform Former Butchery
Together with our friends at BBP Arkitekter and Søren Jensen Engineers, we are excited to have been prequalified to transform the former Danish Crown butchery at Faaborg Harbour.
This industrial landmark will be reimagined as a vibrant destination that embraces its historical character while supporting a wide range of activities.
The vision is to create a vibrant meeting place for communities, associations, culture, entrepreneurship and food innovation – with a strong local foundation and an outlook that welcomes both national and international visitors. The project aims to strengthen Faaborg and the surrounding region as a dynamic and connected community.
We will draw on our experience with climate-responsible transformation, material reuse and circularity from previous projects such as GAME Streetmekka Aalborg, and we are eager to get started!
The project is being realised in collaboration with Realdania, the Nordea Foundation, the Danish Arts Foundation and Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.
A total of 31 teams applied to participate in the competition. The selected teams are:
- BBP Arkitekter, JAJA, Søren Jensen
