Meet the JAJAs: Isa is our new Constructing Architect Assistant
Isa Jacob Kristiansen, Constructing Architect Assistant
We want to welcome Isa, our new and skilled Constructing Architect Assistant. Isa is currently studying at Zealand Business College and will be joining JAJA for a six-month internship. To get to know him better, we asked him a series of questions!
Where are you from, and how did you hear about JAJA?
I am from Nørrebro, Copenhagen, but I live in Refshaleøen with my girlfriend and our two kids Maggie and Max. I heard about JAJA through a friend of a friend who spoke highly of JAJA and their ambition of building in wood.
How did you get into architecture/construction?
I’ve always been interested in how stuff works. And the ultimate “how stuff works” must be: “How does a building work?” How do you go from a sketch to a fully functional building?
What project are you working on right now?
Currently, I am assigned to the Enghave Brygge Syd project (a collaboration between JAJA, Cobe, Dorte Mandrup, Tegnestuen Vandkunsten, and Sweco) 15000 m² multistorey building on the waterfront of Enghave Brygge. Timber load-bearing construction and CLT decks. I can’t wait to learn more about timber and CLT.
When you’re not at JAJA – what do you like to do?
At the moment, our kids take up most of my spare time, but I like to ride my road bike around Amager, and if I have time, I ride up north to Helsingør and Hornbæk.
What would be your go-to meal and movie on a Sunday?
A good pasta dish with a crispy glass of white vine, and my favourite movie The Hunt for Red October!
